The Chaos Group (which owns and develops the V-ray software) noticed Unreal Engines rapid growth within similar markets, but with the agenda of interactive or immersive experiences.

‘V-Ray for Unreal Engine’ enables artists to easily import and repurpose V-Ray scenes created in 3Ds Max, Maya, Rhino, or SketchUp. Without the need to learn new rendering paradigms, its all done through the engine.

Lights and materials are automatically imported and converted into their real-time equivalents in Unreal. The software also introduces V-Ray Light Baking, enabling artists to bake V-Ray lights directly into Unreal with full GPU acceleration for the highest-quality real-time illumination.

The ‘V-Ray for Unreal Engine’ is the best solution if you want to import V-Ray scenes from Maya, SketchUp, and Rhino. Datasmith can also be integrated with it’s import / export features and provide data optimisation tools to increase workflows.
